Automatic Sludge Blanket Level Detector
This detector monitors and controls the liquid-solids interface level of primary, secondary and backwash silt, sludge and biosolids in clarifiers and tanks. It automates sludge removal pumps to operate only when necessary, helping to prevent carryover, avoid pumping thin sludge, and reduce energy usage, wear-and-tear on pumps, and downtime for maintenance. The beam intensity of the LED/phototransistor sensors automatically adjusts for thick or thin concentrations. With its slim profile, the Automatic Sludge Blanket Level Detector is ideal even for obstructed or constricted areas, such as the inclined plates of lamella separators.

Markland’s simple and effective single point monitoring and automatic control to maintain your preferred sludge blanket and supernatant interface level. A LED beam provides accurate readings, even in obstructed/constricted areas such as the inclined plates of lamella clarifiers.
Sludge Gun® Portable Sludge Blanket Level Detector
This handheld sludge blanket level detector allows operators to easily measure the depth of liquid-solids interface levels in clarifiers, septic tanks, ponds and lagoons. It helps prevent carryover, monitor for regulatory compliance and eliminate unnecessary pumping and dredging. Compact and weatherproof, this portable sludge blanket level detector is ideal for use on catwalks and boats. A convenient thumbwheel allows the user to fine-tune its optical sensitivity, enabling it to detect silt, sludge and biosolids in densities ranging from clear surfaces or light flocs to the thick blankets of murky lagoons.
Suspended Solids Density Meter
This Meter keeps you informed with real-time %SS linear readings of silt, sludge and slurry concentrations. Its safe ultrasonic sensor measures Total Suspended Solids (TSS), yet requires no permits or approvals, making it an ideal choice for use when concentrations are too thick for optical meters yet nuclear metering is unnecessary. Available as a non-intrusive spool piece or throw-in style probe, applications include pipes, tanks and clarifiers, with the added capability of automating underflow pumps to help maintain your preferred concentration. Readings are not affected by the colour of fluid or particulates.
Duckbill™ Automatic Composite Sampling System
This unique sampler collects influent and effluent samples from sewers, lift stations, tanks, non-pressurized pipes, sumps, and open channels. It meets the equipment needs of challenging applications, moving water and wastewater samples up high lifts and over long runs, even in cold climates, freezing temperatures and remote locations. Using compressed air to move samples (no pumps, no vacuum system), it is inherently explosion-proof and self-cleaning. The controller for this sampler can be located far from the sampling site and collect from multiple sites simultaneously.
